Scarf Watch 2005!!

<dramatic music>We interrupt this blog to bring you an update on the progress of the checkerboard scarf.  When we last checked in, 7.5 of 20 remaining repeats had been completed.  Due to work obligations, very little progress has been made in the last 24 hours.  Our knitter is desperately seeking out conference calls and webinars so she can sneak in some ‘work knitting’, but alas, the fates seem to be against her this week.  Everyone wants to have video conferences, or ‘go to lunch’, or ‘see a demo’.  At this time 9 repeats have been completed.

She’s getting closer.  11 repeats to go, that’s only 4,224 stitches!  Will the knitter finish tonight?  Will she get side tracked by a baby hat (needs to be finished by Friday morning), hunter orange merino yarn, or a fuzzy foot?  Time will tell.  Rest assured that we will keep you informed.  Now back to your regularly scheduled blog reading. <cue more dramatic music and fade>

I’ll be traveling to DC for work next week.  Any good KIPping spots or yarn stores?  I usually stay in the Mall/Capital/White House area so I can walk to the office.  I’m going to try to get to Knit Happens, but may have plans for dinner and drinks with a friend on Wednesday, which is the one night they are open late.  Any fun pubs in Alexandria?  Maybe I can convince M. to come along on a fiber adventure if there is food and drink in the area.  He won’t be inspired by the yarn.

  1. Enjoy DC! No recomendations, as I wasn’t knitting when I stayed there, so you’ll have to report back when you return.
