(Boston, MA January 7, 2008) The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Yarn (SPCY) is pleased to announce the first yarn liberation of 2008. On January 6, 2008, ten skeins of Mountain Mohair in a gorgeous forest green (picture above) were freed from captivity. Originally purchased from a LYS in Cambridge, MA, these skeins sat neglected in various storage devices (a cramped Rubbermaid bin, a soft sided under-bed storage bag, or just a large plastic bag from Bed, Bath & Beyond) for almost ten years.

On Sunday afternoon, the SPCY facilitated the adoption of the Mountain Mohair to a new, loving, home, where it will be wound into center-pull balls and knit up into a sweater.
