Cask & Flagon

From Fenway Park.

I’m in for another few weeks of crazy traveling. NJ, NY, TX, MA, TX, NJ, MA doesn’t that sound like fun? I’m sticking with simple scarf and shawl knitting for the duration, last thing I’m going to need is to keep track of a pattern. The Black Blob should get a good workout during the flights and some STR scarves will serve for the hot weather in Texas.

On another note, my neighbor is looking for some spinning guidance. (Yes, she really is my neighbor, I am not looking for spinning guidance. Yet.) She has a fleece, is planning on buying a Kromski wheel in the next few weeks, BUT (and here is where the guidance bit comes in) doesn’t know how to spin yet. Since she is a friend and a most excellent Java the Pup sitter, I told her I would reach out to the Spindicate and ask for some recommendations and references. Location is JP and she does not have access to a vehicle. She is aware of Lucy over at Mind’s Eye and has left a message with her. In addition to formal instruction, are there any informal groups or gatherings that take place in the area? Any websites you would recommend?

Thanks in advance for any guidance/info you can provide.

And if any Red Sox fans are out there, the Red Sox Knitters group from Ravelry is getting together tonight at the Purple Shamrock to knit, drink beer, watch the Sox game and generally have a good time. Care to join us?

  1. Oh, man. I wish I could. Darnit!

Ah, the Purple Shamrock. We used to go there all the time. Le sigh. Have fun!

  2. Yowza. Um, have a good trip?!

  3. Crap, that is a lot of traveling. Marnie has a ton of spinning posts on her blog, but it’s not so much “educational” as it is “drool inducing”.
