(Finally took off the Cone of Shame.  JtPP is very happy about that.)

Had a great time on 2010 Penitential Pilgrimage. A few of us started off at the Dogwood (best pint of the day). Then we met up with the rest of the crew for some Black-Eyed Peas and collards before setting off on the main event. We walked several miles (up and around the Pond and Larz Anderson) before enjoying pints at the Behan and then moving on to the Gate.

Best pint of the day was at the Dogwood. Smooth is an understatement. Perfect temperature and a lovely pour. The rings formed nicely on the glass. The pints at the Behan were a bit too cold for my taste. The colder the Guinness, the more bitter it tastes. Back in the day, the Behan had the tastiest pint this side of the Atlantic but ownership and bartenders have changed. From the Behan we moved on to the Gate. Usually an excellent pint, but it was a bit off. Something with the gas I think as it was too fizzy and metallic tasting.

Yeah, I’m a bit particular about my pints.
