travel

Chuck came all the way from Olympia, WA. Spike came up from Philly.  Back in the day, the buses would start in the DC area and travel up 95 to Lewiston/Auburn when the meandering up routes 4 and 27 would start. It was always amusing to watch the first-timers start to gather their stuff together when we got off the highway. When you lived in suburbia along the I-95 corridor it was hard to conceive that you still had hours to travel once off the highway. These days I take 95 up to Augusta and pick up 27 there. I’ve been hesitant to try the Waterville route, since the drive through Belgrade Lakes is so pretty.

Sunday morning came far too soon. We dragged it out as long as possible but finally had to head back to reality (which I am still readjusting to). Such a good time reconnecting with everyone.  The best part was watching Facebook on Monday was watching all the Facebook status updates – for a bunch of people who weren’t “friends” before, we sure had a good time.
